Understanding Childhood

Understanding Childhood! is this easy or difficult. Its neither easy nor difficult, its tactful. In the present scenario, kids have access to all the necessary and unnecessary information. They new generation is more sensitive and fragile too. They are certainly not like millennials. So,  we the millennial  parents have to be extra careful while dealing with them.

Apart from avoiding physical punishments, are there any other changes have you noticed in your parenting strategies. Arent we became more open, and  more convenient parents to be available  for discussions, which wasnt possible in our childhood days. But, do our children understand this? No, they dont, because they not aware of  what we have seen and what they are seeing is  completely different.  Its difficult for them to even imagine  the era of 90s.

We are still at the same question from where we have started , understanding childhood. Each child is different, and so are their choices and capabilities. They actually know what they want in their life, but unfortunately the parents (WE) are still stuck in our old  era of medical and engineering. But,  today things have changed as there are specialization available  for every minute choice made by an individual. The foremost  require is that the person should have the will and wish to pursue. The generation born after 2k is very smart,  and  aware. It is not easy to understand them and neither it is easy to make them understand,  so  being tactfully finding the answers is the only solution. There is not always  direct answers to the questions, all questions are not objective where one word answers are possible. Some questions are subjective, which require proper reasoning for finding the solution.

Childhood is  a mystery to understand. Getting into their minds and cracking the codes of  their choices require lots of patience and buckets full of unconditional love. They are smart enough to test our patience, and the moment we loose it,  they are out of our hands.

In my next blog I will come up with strategies of  teaching reading,  spelling and writing skills to SLD kids.
